Two exports, one upload, and an hour of rebuilding. Your client list moves as a spreadsheet; your booking setup gets built fresh in Holder rather than carried over, because no scheduler exports that part in a usable form.
What comes with you
- Clients: yes. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, the notes on each file.
- Consent status: no. Acuity holds no marketing consent field, so there is nothing to import. Everyone arrives with none recorded.
- History: not in the standard import. Appointments export separately. Moving them into Holder as a real record is a one-off we do for you.
Export from Acuity
Your client list:
- Clients > Import/export > Export client list
- Choose All clients from the drop-down, not one of the recency groups
- Click Export clients
- You get: name, email, phone, file notes, and Days since last appointment — a relative number rather than a date, so write the export date at the top of the file if you want it to mean anything later
Your appointments, if you want the history:
- Reports > Import/Export
- Set the date range back to your first ever booking
- Decide whether to include cancellations
- Leave the intake form selector empty. Selecting a form limits the export to appointments with that form attached, so run it again once per form if you want the answers
- You get: times and time zone, client name, phone, email, appointment type, calendar, price, paid status, amount paid online, discount codes, notes, booking date, label, who made the booking, appointment ID
Import to Holder
- Upload the CSV exactly as it downloaded. Date and phone formats are normalised on import
- Read the column mapping check. If Acuity gave you one combined name column rather than first and last, flag it there
- Combining this with another list: the merge preview matches on email address and shows you the difference field by field before anything is written
- Duplicates are flagged side by side. Where two records disagree about opting out, the more restrictive one wins
What Holder rebuilds rather than imports
- Booking pages, session types, availability, packs
- Under an hour, by hand. Worth doing deliberately — most people are carrying session types they stopped offering a year ago
What doesn't come with you
- Marketing consent. A booking list is not a mailing list. Decide who you have permission to email and set it yourself
- Packages, gift certificates, subscription codes. These stay in Acuity and outstanding ones need honouring by hand. Export appointments first so you can see who still holds credit
- Intake form answers. They sit with appointments in Acuity, not with clients
- Zoom. No integration transfers. In Holder you paste your own link on a session, one session at a time
The last step
- Repoint the booking link: website, bio, email signature, anywhere it appears
- Take a test booking as a client and check the confirmation lands
- Switch off Acuity's booking page, and keep the account open until the last booking made in it has happened
Deep history imports are a paid one-off service, not part of a trial or a plan. If you want one, send us your export before you start a trial: we'll quote you for it, and tell you honestly what will and won't come with you either way.
